Lt Gen Arun Kumar Sahni (Retd) is a decorated scholar-soldier with 40 years of commissioned service in the Indian Army. He retired as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of one of the Army’s six operational commands, the second-highest rank in the force. His distinguished career includes leadership of key military formations and critical staff roles such as Chief Operations Officer with the IPKF in Sri Lanka, Colonel General Staff for counter-insurgency operations in Jammu & Kashmir, Principal Staff Officer at Army Headquarters, and Director General, Information Technology.
